Abegweit Chapter IODE Bursary - 2 @ $500 (2012-2013 is final year for bursary)
The Arthur and Melissa MacDowell Memorial Scholarship - Approx. $165 (University Bound)
Canadian Tire Bursary - $500 (must attend post-secondary in the fall and working part-time)
Curran & Briggs Scholarship Award - $500 (Engineering Bound students)
Curran & Briggs Scholarship Award for Volunteerism in Community and School - 5 @ $300
Friends of the Eptek Centre - $500 (pursuing a career in the arts or computer science)
Gallant-Ryder Memorial Award - $200 (preferably former student of Miscouche Consolidated)
Gary Robichaud Memorial Bursary - $500 (any graduating student from TOSH who is pursuing post-secondary in the fields related to Social Studies or Political Science and who was involved with Model UN, Youth Parliament, Reach for the Top, and or Rotary Youth Exchange).
John Leuty Memorial Bursary - $300 (Holland College bound)
John Callbeck Memorial Award - $200 (students studying at university, community college or a private institution will be given equal consideration).
This award is in memory of John Callbeck, a Three Oaks Grad of 1984. John died in a tragic accident in 1995 and prior to this was involved in carrying on the Callbeck family business. The award is for a deserving graduating student who will be pursuing post secondary education in the field of Business or Retail Management.
Kathleen Williams Memorial Bursary - $150 (graduating student from TOSH entering the nursing profession).
Bursary to be awarded to a graduating student who is entering the nursing profession and who exhibits the qualities of devotion, dedication, and sincerity which Miss Williams possessed in abundance.
Ken Moore Memorial Bursary - $250 (pursuing post-secondary in computer tech field).
This award is presented in memory of Ken Moore, a graduate of 1983 who passed away in 1998. Ken was a young man who persevered in school and in life despite a kidney ailment which placed severe limitations upon him. Following his graduation from Three Oaks, he enrolled in Holland College and earned a diploma in computer programming.
Kerry Rioux Memorial Bursary - $500 (any graduating student from TOSH who is pursuing post-secondary in Mathematics or related field of study).
Mr. Rioux taught at Three Oaks Senior High School for fifteen years. Kerry’s passion was mathematics which he enthusiastically shared with his students and colleagues. Mr. Rioux exemplified and encouraged the pursuit of excellence. His love of mathematics and fitness will continue to live on in the halls of TOSH and in the hearts of his students.
The Laing MacDowell Poetry & Creative Writing Award - Approximately $190 (Must write a poem about PEI, an Island event or an Island person, living or dead. Minimum length is 500 words).
Laing MacDowell is a son of a well-known Summerside MacDowell family. Together with his 5 siblings. Laing attended high school in Summerside, is a patron of the arts, and is a strong supporter of youth - especially in the arenas of poetry, creative writing and journalism.
Morgan Paynter Memorial Bursary - $200 (Community College bound)
The Morgan Paynter Bursary is in memory of this former graduate (‘97) of Three Oaks who died in March 1998. The award is for a deserving graduate of Three Oaks Senior High School who will be pursuing post-secondary education. The award is intended primarily for a student who is pursuing studies at a community college. A student who has the ability to succeed in their chosen program would be of primary importance. Financial need would also be important.
RBC Award - $1,000
Awarded to a graduating student pursuing a post-secondary business or environmental studies degree.
St. Eleanor’s Lions and Lioness Club Bursary - $500 (Must be attending a post-secondary institution and have devoted time to volunteer activities).
This bursary is to recognize a graduating student who has done things for others without pay - volunteered - during their high school years. The volunteer activity may have been in the student’s community, church, school, a service organization, hospital, manor or other venue. The student must be going on to post-secondary studies at a college or university and have academic standing commensurate to probable success in his/her chosen program.
Three Oaks Student Council 2.0 Leadership Award - 3 @ $200 (Must be a member of one or more of the various school councils).
This bursary fund was established by the 1987-88 Student Council of Three Oaks Senior High*. The recipient must be a member of one of the school councils and demonstrate leadership qualities through active service in the school.
Western Area Teachers of the English Language School Board - 2 @ $300
Awarded to dependents of PEITF members, past & present. Notification given on a year to year basis with regard to these being offered.
